With over 500 members mem-bers !n line the parado of Weber camp No. 71, "Woodmen of tho "World, which passed through the prlncpal streets of Iho city this afternoon was one of the most imposing spectacles seen hero In many months. Two bands of muslu and the degree de-gree team of the local camp with a squad of uniformed city police gave the appearance appear-ance of a military pageant. Forming a' tho lodge room on Twenty-fourth street and Washington avenue, the members, ' headed by Joseph Bailey, marshal of the clay, marched down Twenty-fourth sircet to Grant avenue thence to Twenty-fifth street, east to Washington avenue and north to Twenty-second street, thence east to tho City cemetery. The occasion was tho annual memorial day observance of the local Woodmen. At the City cemetery forty-seven graves of departed mcmhers wore decorated with flowers and wreaths and five monuments to members who died during the past year were unveiled. The members of the camp performed a like mission at the Mountain View cemetery this morning where graves were docoratcd and two monuments unveiled. At the ,Clly cemetery this afternoon J. Kavanaugh, stato organizer, delivered the memorial address B. Van dor Schult, the council commander, also spoke. Both paid eloquent tributes to tho memory of the departed members of the camp. Mounted couriers assisted the .marshal of the day in clearing the streets while the parade was passing through the streets. |
