One-hundred and twenty-six of the two. hundred claimants claim-ants of the McAlpIne coal group In the Cock Inlet country of Alaska, have boon notified by the Juneau land office to show cause within sixty days why thclh claims should not bo recommended for cancellation because of failure of the claimants to comply with the requirements require-ments of the. United States statutes, which provide that application for patent shall be made within three years from the time of locating coal lands. A number num-ber of claimants havo applied for patent. There are no fraud chnrges In the present proceedings, The promoters of the McAlpIne Mc-AlpIne group arc wllbur McAlpIne. Albert Al-bert II. Roehm. George W. Ross. Frank D, Andrus, Arthur L. Holmes and Mc-Curdy Mc-Curdy C. Lebeau, nil of Detroit, and John M. Bushnell of Chicago. They were Indicted In Detroit last March, charged with conspiracy to defraud the United States of the use and possession of tho McAlpIne coal lands.
