Holmep, who will remain thorn a few days on business conneclod with the furnishing fur-nishing of the new Bemloh hotel in Salt Tako. The New York report, says: "Gus Holmes, proprietor of tho tvnuts-ford tvnuts-ford hotel in Salt 1-ake, and one of Ibo best-known hotel men of the west, has been in Grand Rapids for the last week, where he has bought a handsome line of furnishings for the new Semlob hotel, soon to be opened In Salt I.ako City. Mr. Holmes says thnt the Semloh will be one of the finest equipped hotels west of the Mississippi river, and at least $100.-000 $100.-000 will be spent In furnishing the new hostelry. "It Is reported that five, carloads of carpets and draperlen for the new Salt Iiake hotel have been bought of "V. .1. Sloano & Co.. and Mr. .Holmes will return re-turn to Salt JL.ako about March 20 to receive re-ceive these goods and superintend the furnishing and, decoration of the hotel.
