Show UTE COPPER HEARING IIS MAIN RESOURCES Manager Thomas Weir Says in Six Places Ore Is Being Found in Mine. For several days past there havo been pcrslstont rumors to the effect that tho management of tho Ute Copper company had broken Into two very gratifying shoots of ore. and that one especially was of rich shipping rock. General Manager Thomas Weir, who has been busy wun other matters, was seen Wednesday morning and asked for the latest news from the Ute, a Bingham camp mine. Mr. Weir statcB that he does not believe be-lieve in calling a discovery a "strike until un-til the oro occurs in such quantities that it can bo shipped to market, but he nd-mltcd nd-mltcd that the Uto was showing very satisfactory proportions at this time. 110 states that there aro several different places In the property, nt least a halt doren, which lie considers line proHpects. but ore In sufficient quantity to Justify him In calling tho finds strikes has not yet been gained. , , , , The company Is working mainly !n tho main tunnel, it being the plan from the tlmo development work ntarted over a year ago to drivo tho tunnel to tho logical logi-cal point before concentrating energy on other lines of effort. This point has been gained at last, stated Mr. Weir, and as quickly as tho preliminaries can be arranged ar-ranged work towards the resources proper prop-er will be started. The face of the tunnel tun-nel Is very wet, necessitating careful timbering, which Is retarding development work to an unusual extent for this busy corporation. An upraise also is looking especially pleasing. One of tho tunnels Is In 2000 feet, whllo the second Is about half that length, the depth gained on the best appeal! lg oro at present being about 500 feel. Mr. I Weir brought In with him some samples j of milling oro being opened now, forty 1 or fifty tons of which are on the dumps, the result of development work. The oro carries silver, lead and copper with heavy Iron contents. Boston Copper Stocks. Jnmcs A.
