Show WHEAT OPENS STRONG, BUI il EASES OFF Oats and Corn Market Hold Strong Through the Day's Trading. CHICAGO, March 19. The wheat market opened strong with prices of all 'options Showing moderato gains, At tho end of the first half hour, however, tho market showed signs of weakness. Pit traders and commission houses sold the July delivery de-livery freely and that option gradually eased off. The extremely favorable weathor for fall sown wheat In the southwest caused, tho bulk of snleo, It was reported from Kansas City that thero Is now n prospect of a record-breaking crop this year. As the session advanced ad-vanced the July option continued to decline until the price was alt-most alt-most 1 cent below the closing quotation quota-tion of Saturday. At the same time, .however, May held steady on a fairly active demand by commission houses. May closed unchanged. Tho corn market was strong throughout through-out tho day on active covering by shorts and on actlvo buying by commission houses and cash Interests. Oats were In active demand by shorts and tho market was firm all day. Notwithstanding a 5 to 10 cent decline In tho prlco of livo hogs, tho provisions markot was firm and trading active. Thoro was a strong Investment demand and the local pnekers were liberal purchasers pur-chasers of lard and ribs At the close May pork was up 1714, lard was 20 cents higher and ribs advanced 15 cents.
