Steve Adams, alias Adam Stevens, who has gained much notoriety of late for his connection with the Orchard case ln Boise, Jda., icalded in Park City last June and worked as a miner here, lie came hero ln company with a woman and secured work ut the Daly-West mine. Thd couple rented a small house and commenced housekeeping. housekeep-ing. Believed to Be Insane. On June 13. while tho family of Arthur Hooper was in Salt Lake City attending tho Minors' Union excursion, Adams entered en-tered tho Hooper homo and robbed It of its furniture, lie was nrrc3ted on tho charge of housebreaking and lodged In tho city Jail. It was thought at the llmo that tho fellow's mind was unbalanced, ns the furniture- was- removed In broad daylight and in the presence of tho neighbors. Tho charge against him was. on tnis account, reduced to petty larceny and he was sentenced sen-tenced to pay a line of $50. This line was afterwards reduced to 125. which Adams paid and left town. Talked Freoly of His Life. While in Jail Adams talked freoly of bis llfo and stated that he had been In Cripple Crip-ple Creek during tho trouble there. Ho told parties here. It Is alleged, that he was onto the inside workings of the union and was one of three men chosen to assassinate as-sassinate the three Judges of the biiprcmo court of Colorado. Gov.
