Show TURNED ON THE GAS. Russian in Denver Attempts Suicido on Account of R-overses to Russia. DENVER, Nov. 2 After reading of the reverses of the Russian forces In the war with Japan and the threatening attitude at-titude of England because of the North sea Incident, Tony Lascoras, a Russian, attempted suicide by Inhaling Illuminating Illumi-nating gas. He Is now nt the county hospital in a critical condition. Lascoras Is a laborer, 23 years of age. He came to town, after having been employed on the Moffat road grnde for some weeks. During this time he had not seen a newspaper and did. not know of the developments In the Japanese-Russian Japanese-Russian situation. He went to a snloon at 3300 Larimer street, and alter reading all the papers he could find and Imbibing Imbib-ing many drinks, he expressed great regret that Russia had not been victorious victori-ous in her engagements with the enemy. ene-my. He asked tho barkeeper where he could secure a room and was referred to a lodglhg-house over the saloon. He hired a room at this place and retired. Some time later attaches of the house smelled the odor of gas and traced It to the room of Lascoras. The door was broken open and the man was found to be almost unconscious as a result of inhaling in-haling the fumes. ' |
