' Special to The Tribune. OGDEN, Utah, Nov. 2. The police and Sheriff's department of Ogdcn are baffled by one of the most mysterious murder cases that ever occurred In the criminal annals of Ogden. This after-uoon after-uoon the body of a man was found In an Oregon Short Line box car in the Southern Pacillc yards. The man had been murdered, but there was absolutely absolute-ly nothing upon his person to reveal his Identity, and the body Is now lying at Larkin's morgue awaiting Identification. Identifica-tion. Body "Warm "When Found. The remarkable part of the story Is that the car In question arrived In Ogden Og-den some time last night, but the man's body when found was still warm, Indicating Indi-cating beyond a doubt that the man had been murdered within a few hours previous pre-vious to his being found. The man Is about 30 years of age, six feet tall, weighs about 190 pound?, has a reddish auburn hair, grayish blue eyes, deformed de-formed right hand and Is dressed In a brown cloth coat and corduroy trousers. Covered "With Blood. He was discovered first by Car Sealer McCarty, who found the body just Inside In-side the end door of the car. The car was loaded with railroad ties, and the body had been pushed through the end door of the car on the ties-, and the ties and lloor of the car were covered with blood. A great deal of dlfTlculty was experienced ex-perienced In getting the body out, and It was loaded on the patrol wagon and taken to Larkln's undertaking parlors. Here It was discovered the man had been shot with a 45 calibre pistol, the ball entering the left side Just below tho arm, passing through the heart and out at the right side. The body, was discovered about 5:30 o'clock In the afternoon, was still warm, proving that the man had been murdered some time during the afternoon after-noon In the Ogden yards. Just how this could happen without some of the many watchmen In that vicinity becoming cognizant of the fact Is a mystery. The police ore at the rope's end, but are working hard to llnd a clue that will lead to the apprehension of the murderer. The man had the appearance of having been a laborer. A pocket knife was about the onl thing that was found In his pockets. |
