Show CONTEST OF SHERIFFS OVER A PRISONER Sheriff J. Johnson of Lincoln county, Nevada, arrived hero yesterday with requisition papers for the suspected Calientes train robber, W. L Wilson, alias C. IT. Moore. Wilson, who was apprehended at Milford Immediately after the train robbery, was brought to this city and has been detained here for the Nevada authorities. For some time has was in the Holy Cros3 hospital, hos-pital, where It was found necessary to, amputate one of his arms. The man has other bullet wounds in his body. Gov. Wells yesterday morning honored hon-ored the requisition papers of Sheriff Johnson, but habeas corpus proceedings proceed-ings were commenced by Attorney W. F. Wanless in behalf of the prisoner which prevented Sheriff Emery from turning Wilson over to the Nevada officer. of-ficer. Judge Morse has ordered Sheriff Emory to produce Wilson In court tomorrow to-morrow morning at 9 o'clock, at which time the petition for the writ will be argued. Wilson la wanted In Nevada for forgery as well as for robbery. |
