Show WILL NOT SEND TROOPS TO CARBON Gov. Wells Deems It Unnecessary to Send the National Guard to tho Coal Fields Again. After receiving reports from Gen. Cannon and Dr. Bcatty on conditions In Carbon county Gov. Wells lia3 decided de-cided that the trouble stirred up by enforcing the quarantine regulations with relation to "Mother" Jones does not warrant Interference by the State. Gov. Wells said yesterday that the facts at present wero Insufficient cause for calling out the militia, and that he did not believe It would become necessary neces-sary to send the troops to Carbon county at all. It ls believed that the whole matter will die out in a few-days. few-days. The following telegram wns sent by Gov. Wells to Sheriff Hyrum Wilcox Wil-cox at Helper yesterday "Reports from Gen. Cannon and Dr. Beatty do not convince me of present need for troops In Carbon county. Am hopeful that, with prudence and patience, pa-tience, you can maintain peaceful conditions. con-ditions. Urge that utmost tact be exercised ex-ercised In dealing with situation, but law must be enforced, life and property protected and offenders promptly dealt with. Only when the county has exhausted ex-hausted all Its resources can the power of the State properly be Invoked. In such emergency you may be assured It will not be denied, but It Is my sincere hope that yourself and deputies, backed by the loyal and active support of your citizens, will be able to cope with lawlessness law-lessness or prevent serious outbreak of any kind.
