Show STILL LITIGATING OVER M0YER LABOR TROUBLE DENVER. April 23. Adjt.-Gcn. Sherman M. Bell and Capt Bulkclcy Wells this afternoon appealed to the Supreme court for a writ of supersedeas to stay the ruling of Judge Stevens of San Miguel county, finding them guilty of contempt of court for falling to produce pro-duce President Moyer, of the Western Federation of Miners, In response to the writ of habeas corpus Issued by him. Each of tho two guardsmen was fined ?500 for this ortense. Tho Supreme Su-preme court received the application and decided to unite the case with that of the application of Mr. Moyer for a writ of habeas corpus made to the higher court last week. SALIDA, Colo., April 23. Gen. Sherman Sher-man M. Bell, CapL Bulkclcy Wells and tho detachment of troops escorting President Charles IT. Moyer, of the Western Federation fo Miners, from Denver to Tellurlde, spent the night here and departed for Tellurlde today. President Moyer was kept under close guard while here, no one being allowed to converse with him. |
