Show A COMPLICATED CASE Heavy Sale of Stock By the Sheriff at Vernal Vernal Nov 29The sale of the Chadwick property which was sold by Sheriff Preece to satisfy a judgment obtained by Tohnson Sons in the district dis-trict court ii TC was concluded today On Saturday 20 horses were sold whit brought S71 and three cows brough 7750 They were sold singly and in some instances brought fair prices Today 112 horses and mules were sold at lunp sale bringing 1075 othei property including wagon lumber farm implements and harness etc brought at lump sale SG5 The property was with the exception excep-tion of several head of horses and the three cows purchased by Johnson S Sons The sale was rather a complicated compli-cated piece of business because of th fact that there is a question concerning concern-ing the ownership of the property Eoward Whipple who has been connected con-nected with Mrs Chadwick in a business busi-ness way for a number of years claim an interest in the property The judgment judg-ment was obtained on Mrs Chadwick personal note and a company mer chandlse account Fourteen of the horses sold on Saturday Sat-urday went to satisfy the partnershij debt and a clear title was given th < purchasers When this judgment wa sv cleared the sheriff announced that mlj the interest of Mrs Chadwick in th balance of the property would be sold that interest to be determined by tht court at the next sitting Just what that interest is no on < has any idea outside the parties themselves them-selves That Johnson Sons expec more litigation is evidenced by th fact that they bid all the property in or nearly all Vhipple has filed a suit for damage against Sheriff Preece for 10000 am there will very likely be some hot litigation liti-gation at the next sitting of court ° The judgment was for 2782 and th < property brought 196150 The horse were the best ever sold in this section sec-tion |
