Show A Dallas Texas dispatch to the New York Sun says it is estimated that there are in Texas about sixty men who call Princeton their alma mater They have decided to organize an alumni association in Houston December Decem-ber 6 W Goodrich Jones of Temple recently wrote to Grover Cleveland stating that the graduates desired the pleasure of enrolling his infant son Mr Clevelands reply will be read at the Houston meeting It is as follows Westland Princeton N J1Y Goodrich Jones My Dear Sir I was very glad to receive your letter of the 6th inst and I thank you for your cordial greeting to my young Prince tonian I am sure that I ought not to I pledge my son to anything but I believe be-lieve that I can safely promise that when the Texas contingent of 1915 or 1916 arrives at Princeton they will find a fellow by the name of Cleveland whooping for old Nassau I am very much pleased to learn that the Texas graduates propose to form an alumni association and I hope it will serve to keep alive the delightful memories and attachments of college life and quicken the love and devotion of the sons of Princeton for their alma mater ma-ter With never failing regrets that I cannot recall college days I am thoroughly thor-oughly convinced that those who are more fortunate ought to keep up such I a relationship to their colleges after graduation as will enable them to claim I membership in the brotherhood of educated edu-cated men Wishing you the greatest possible success in the formation of your alumni association I am yours very truly Grover Cleveland When Master Cleveland is matriculated matricu-lated at the famous old college may every success be his He will not be a selfmade man and hence he will not be so liable to make a botch of the I matter |
