driven In from the outside for shearing purposes the most of them belong to Carbon county owners The breeding oC horses Is also an Important Im-portant Industry In Carbon county which brings in thousands and thousands thou-sands of dollars each year having been particularly profitable the past twelvemonths twelve-months by reason of the fact that 90 heavy purchases have been made here for the cavalry of our own country and also of England < Many of the smaller fruits which grow In other portions of Utah and Colorado are successfully raIsed here Wt such as apples pears and the smaller berries There are also men engaged I successCllly in horticulture who depend upon this exclusively for their JIvIng The honey Industry amounts to considerable consid-erable and is increasing with every year Towns of the County The mast important towns of Carbon county are Price Castlegate Helper Scafield Winter Quarters SunnysIde and elllngton Price the county seat and the most Important station In the matter of receipts both Incoming and outgoing Is the third on the line at the RloGrande Western raIhya being ex I ceeded only by Salt Lake City and I Ogden It is the forwarding point for the large country to the south and to the ndrth and west All Of the government govern-ment freight for Fort Duchesne and the several tribes of Indians on the Uintah and Uncampahgre reservations is are at par Helper seven miles west Of Price is the railroad center Of the county being be-ing a divisional point for the Rio Grande Western railroad Its population popula-tion is necessarily of the transient kind though there uc many railroad men there who have resided In the place for years The town has as goad school facilities as are to be found in Utah and the railroad company has this year built at Its own cast a magnificent structure costing In the neighborhood of 5000 which It gives to the school district for use free of cost The buildIng buid ing Is also used for church and amuse meat purposes and there are services of a religious character every Sunday in the year There Is no sect or creed on the contrary It I open to every denomination de-nomination alike The company has
