Show II WORK AT SILVER KING 1 = Many Improvements at Park City Bonanza 1 NEW BUILDINGS RECTED i I THINGS MADE COMFORTA13LE AL AROUND ncentrating Mill Completed Dux ng eYear Now Ending 1 sunk House and Office Building J Betteed nd Much Other Work i eStatement of Ores Shipped I t The first or January ISiS found the new concentrating Silver King mUl about halt finished and it was not com plcted and start d till about the mid i dlelOfJune SlncQ then seer Hmport I t ant and beneficial changes have been made the last one being the substation i substa-tion of six fine anners tor treating the 1 finer material from Huntington which t gIves a marked imrovement over the f WUfi tables With the two elevators for fine material I ma-terial and the slime tables in process of construction which will all be completed com-pleted within a month the mill mIl be complete and in firstclass condition for efficient and economical work During Dur-ing the year a complete uplodate assay 1 as-say office and laboratory has been con structed and equipped with the latest I and best appliances A change house for mill hands and a II large convenient and well appointed mill office with three extra rooms for superintendent and assayers has also been built With the erectlon of a 50 ooogalloc water tank for fire purposes the const1Uction of a water line and the placing of seven hydra ts with hose houses runwaya ladders etc all placed in convenient locations for the purpose the protet1oa from fire is firstclass The construction of the pipe line from the Hanauer tunnel was not commenced com-menced till late in the fall but waS completed late in November and connection con-nection made with the mm This is an eightinch line or heavy wrought iron pipe and discharges into two to OOOzallon tank The long trestle connecting the mine ore bin with the large ore house at the mill has been covered its entire length and is lighted by electricity tluoUAh outThe The bunk houses occupied by the men have been greatly improved during dur-ing the fYetlr ali rooms being lined throughout wtlh compo board and painted Iron bedsteadS have been constructed two new bunk houses built and aU Dut in prime condition for the j use and comfort of the employees j At the shaft boiise the machine shop J is beIng enlarged and a large new lathe I added A new blacksmith hOJ has j also been erected with two forges and appliances The development work performed amounted to 2725 feet in tunnels drifts crosscuts etc The new lower tunnel which will tap the ledge 250 feet deeper than the present workings has been i drIven 815 feet leaving about 400 feet to run before cutting the vein at this depth After crosscutting to the ore in the upper tuhneI the ground was found to be quite wet with a probabIlity probabIl-ity of increase should sinking be attempted at-tempted from this point Sf it was deemed advisable to drive the lower tunnel and the results and conditions prove the course to have been a wise I one as the ground for the last 200 feet has been very wet and at times the flow has been so great that work in the breast had to be suspended to enlarge 1 I large th watp the tunnel ditch to carry away Excellent progress was made In the tunnel up to Dec 1 but since that time bard ground and increasing water have made progress slow and difficult The companys property consists of nineteen claims in a group nine of them being patented and the balance in process or patent Throo assessments have been levied since the newmanagement took charge and the plant has ben put in good shape for the work in hand I In order to make storage room for 1 tailings In the canyon below the mill I the comlany has made a new road from the mill ore bins to a point near the Alice shaft This road is eighteen feet wide in solid ground and rock about hreefourths ofits entire length having been blasted out of solid rock j This TOad will be Qen much earlier I in the spring after the breakup and I being up aboc the canyon the snow I I will not drift in as badly and having I an eastern and oouthern exposure the snow will be melted much earlier With the uniform liberal policy of the management as to development work the ore reserves in the mine have been II largely Ixcraa ed during the rear and prospecting ahead is being vigorously carried on at the 1200 and 13oofoot levels I |
