| Show The Produce Exchange Business on change yesterday was lively fer Saturday and the transactions were heavier than any day since the exchange ex-change was organized The potato market fell to pieces anc prices declined 90 and 95 cents to 70 and 75 cents per 100 hundred pounds The reason rea-son of the decline is attributed to the ap pearance of the California new crop at reasonable rea-sonable prices and in larger quantities consequently the old stock has fallen off There are still a large quantity of old po tatoes in sight The wheat market strengthened some and the flour market brightened up and became firm During the session of the change nine cars of flour were sold at present prices spot cash for immediate de livery and a telephone order from Salt Lake for five cars at present prices spot cash to be deliverd by the 15th inst was promptly declined and dealers declined to name prices for future delivery until Monday which under the rules is permis sable on a call for future delivery from the outside Flour shows indicatsons of a decided increase the first of the week The egg market held about firm with a slight decline The sales for the day reached 9 cars of flour 3 cars of potatoes 4000 pounds of new potatoes 50 cases of oranges 5 cases lemons SOO lozan of green onions 2000 pounds of asparagus 1 car of chopped feed 1000 pounds of butter 1000 pounds of cheese and 500 dozen radishes |
