Condition of the Crops WASHINGTON May 2The weather crop I bulletin says The weather during the past week was specially favorable for all growing crops throughout the grain regions re-gions of the northwest and central valleys Excessive sunshine and warm weather favored farm work and early sown wheat in Minnesota and Dakota is in excellent condition Light frosts which occurred during the week in the central valleys did not prove injurious In the winter wheat region all the crops are reported in excel lent condition wheat and grass are grow ing nicely and much corn has been planted Oregon reports normal weather conditions and wheat prospects most excellent no damaging frosts and all the fruit trees heavily laden Colorado reports rain needed corn and potato planting well ap vanced and fruit in splendid condition California reports high winds and bad weather damaging grain crops materially in the latter part of the week Frost in the coast counties slightly damaged fruit prospects Haying is in progress in south ern California and the prospects are good Orange and lemon trees arc blooming well Though late > started they promise well
