Show Funeral Services Held In Tabernacle for Mrs. Karl Shakespeare Counselor Arthur Cottam of the East ward bishopric conducted the funeral services held in the stake Tabernacle Friday, Feb. 18, at 4:30 p. m., for Mrs. Karl Shakespeare, Shake-speare, 26, who died in Salt Lake City, Monday, Feb. 14, after a lingering illness. Mrs. Mae A. Pace presided at the Tabernacle organ and accompanied accom-panied the music numbers which included a vocal duet, "The Lord Is My Shepherd", by Mrs. Ray Schmutz and Mrs. Von B. Cottam; Cot-tam; violin solo, "Elegie", by Mrs. Ellis Everett; vocal solo, "Prayer Perfect", Mrs. Mack G. Jackson; and a trio, "Sometime We'll Understand", Un-derstand", Leland Lamoreaux, Mrs. William E. Baker and Mrs. Howard How-ard Starr. Speakers were Dr. W. J. Reich-man Reich-man n, Vernon Worthen of the stake presidency and Walter A. Pace. All three spoke of the patient pa-tient suffering of the deceased, of her sunny disposition, and of the devotion of her husband and parents par-ents in her long illness. Each of the speakers sermonized on the eternity of life and the scriptural evidence of the purpose of mortality mor-tality as a place of preparation for the life hereafter, extending hope and encouragement to those bereaved. Counselor Cottam extended appreciation ap-preciation of the family to all who have given them help and sympathy in their sorrow, and for the floral tributes and the impressive im-pressive services. Prayers were by Pres. Harold S. Snow and Albert E. Miller. Burial was in the St. George city cemetery with A. K. Hafen dedicating dedi-cating the grave. |
