Show M other of Moab Man Dies in Colo. Rhoda H. Gibson, of Helper, mother of Eugene Eu-gene Gibson of Moab, and a former member of the Utah House of Representatives, Repre-sentatives, died March 19 in Grand Junction of natural causes. Mrs. Gibson, 86, had been a school teacher in Carbon County for many years. She was elected to the Helper City Council Coun-cil in 1919 and served one term. She was elected elect-ed to the House of Representatives Rep-resentatives in 1935, also al-so serving one term. Born Jan. 28, 1889 in S;il ina, Utah, she was the daughter of Thomas and F.llen Bailey Humphrey. She married David C. Gibson in September 1915 in Salt Lake Citv, and he died May 20, 1950. Survivors include 3 sons, F.ugene C, Moab.; .David 11., Price; and Lee it., Grand Junction; six grandchildren and six great grandchildren; two brothers, William Humphrey, Hum-phrey, Provo, and Ray Humphrey, Orangeville. Memorial services were held March 22 at Mitchell Mit-chell Funeral Home in Price, following cremation crema-tion in Grand Junction. The family suggests contributions con-tributions to the Shri-ners' Shri-ners' Hospital for Crippled Crip-pled Children, Salt Lake City. |
