Savage to be honored at an open house on their 50th anniversary. Mr., Mrs. J. L. Savage to observe golden wedding Saturday,. May 29 Relatives and friends of Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Savage are invited in-vited to an open house marking mark-ing their Golden Wedding anniversary an-niversary at their home 264 W. Center, Saturday May 29, from 2 until 5 p.m. Anna Helene Hedman Savage Sav-age was born in Salt Lake City on May 2, 1893. She lived in ISchofield for a time, but most of her young life was spent in Salt Lake. John L. Savage was born September 26, 1891, in Millard County. His family moved to Salt Lake when he was a young boy. He worked for the Union Pacific Railroad for a number of years before coming to Springville to work at the Geneva Ironton Steel Plant, where he was a locomotive engineer for 35 years. He retired re-tired in 1957. Mr. and Mrs. Savage were married May 27, 1915, in Salt Lake City. Their marriage was late solemnized in the Manti Temple. They lived in Salt Lake until 1922, when they moved to Springville and have lived here since. Five of their seven sons and daughters are living: Mrs. William R. (Hazel) Clyde and Frank L. Savage, Springville ; John H. Savage, Kearns; Mrs. Terry G. (Janet) Selin, Schenectady, Schen-ectady, N. Y.; and Mrs. Ted (Marcille) Woodhouse, Salem. Two sons have passed away: Robert A. Savage, in 1930 and Clarence B. Savage, in 1943. There are 28 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. |
