Clark, rnnrl Finn Parr7 con r f IVTr nrrl IVTr-c I-IrTrfl-i PorriT tsxJ- 5 Mrs. Millie Bird of Mapleton, accompanied ac-companied by her daughter Maurine, Mau-rine, have returned from California, Califor-nia, where Maurine participated in the Western Conference of Music with other Springville high school girls. While in California, Mrs. Bird and daughter visited with Mr. and Mrs. Earl Mendenhall at San Francisco, and enroute home visited vis-ited Mrs. Marie Chesley in Roosevelt. Roose-velt. Mrs. Lewis Wing has returned from Idaho, where she attended the funeral of her uncle, and als visited relatives at Oakley, Twin Falls and Shoshone. Mr. and Mrs. Clinton Young and family spent a day last week in Salt Lake City, where they visited a son Perry Norwood, who is recovering re-covering from injuries suffered in an accident some time ago. Mrs. Louise C. Snow, accompanied accompan-ied by her mother Mrs. Dora Cran-dal, Cran-dal, and a niece, arrived this week from San Bernardino, Calif., where Mrs. Crandall has spent the winter. took place Thursday, April 21, in the Fourth ward chapel. The ceremony cere-mony was performed by Glen A. Christensen, former, bishop of the Fourth ward, in the presence of relatives and close friends. Radiantly pretty in a gown of white satin and net with lace trim, the bride also wore a finger-tip veil of bride's illusion, fashioned to her head with a crown of seed pearls and orange blossoms. She carried a white satin Bible and single orchid. Mrs. Marjorie Torzillo, sister of the bride, was matron of honor; Miss Arlea Wilson was maid of honor, and the Misses Lynette Madsen, Beverly Child and Mar-gene Mar-gene Porter were bridesmaids. They presented an attractive line clad in orchid and yellow, and each carried a colonial bouquet in corresponding cor-responding colors. Little Linda Child in orchid, carried a basket of orchid flowers with yellow ribbon. Reed Clement did best man duties. Assisting also in the reception of guests were parent of the bride and groom. Mrs. Clark chose a turquoise crepe for her daughter's wedding, with split-carnation corsage, cor-sage, and Mrs. Parry was attired in royal blue with carnation corsage. Edwards Ed-wards of Springville, Utah was recently assigned as a Rifleman in the famed 23rd Infantry Regiment, Regi-ment, it was announced by Colonel Edwin B. Howard, Regimental Commander. Prior to this assignment assign-ment he was a Basic Soldier. Fort Lewis, Washington, April 21, 1949 Ret. Elmo C. Brown, son of Mr. and Mrs. William K. Brown of Springville was recently assigned as-signed as a Rifleman in the famed 23rd Infantry Regiment, it was announced by Colonel Edwin B. Howard, Regimental Commander. Prior to this assignment he was a Basic Soldier. Mrs. Matt Crandall will leave Saturday on a several weeks vacation vaca-tion trip to the Hawaiian Island. She will go in company with Mr. and Mrs. Hilton Robertson, who are leaving to organize a mission in China. Mrs. Crandall will remain in the islands about two weeks until un-til her brother and wife leave for China. An entertaining program was arranged for the occasion, announced an-nounced by Toastmaster Grant Thorn. The Trebbletones of the high school gave two selections. Merrill Peay and David Loveless of Provo entertained with a pan-tominue pan-tominue number. Sharon Child gave two dance selections; Miss Elaine Jones, vocal solos, and Mrs. Gertrude Clements a tribute to the bride and groom. After the program dancing was enjoyed and refreshments were served, under direction of Mrs. Delia Clark, assisted by friends of the bride. Miss Ercel Clark, an aunt of the bride, was in charge of the gift arrangement. A color scheme of orchid and yellow was carried out in every detail of the wedding, including floral decorations and refreshments. refresh-ments. The couple spent a short honeymoon honey-moon in Nevada, following their marriage, and returned this week to make their home in Springville, while the bride completes her school work. |
