The largest entertainment of the pesent week for war relief is a "silver "sil-ver tea," to be given under the auspices of the Utah Mothers' congress at the home of Mrs. W. S. McCornick on Center Cen-ter street, ThuTs'day afternoon from 4 until 6 o'clock, for the benefit of the French refugee women. - The money realised will be sent direct to Miss Grace Zerbaugh, formerly former-ly of Salt Lake City and at present one of the women in charge of the "Secours des Refugiees" at Amiens. No invitations will be issued, but every one interested in helping poor French widows is invited to be present. A short musical programme will be given. The reception committee will include Mrs. W. A low bowl filled with tulips and fleur de lis on a handsome hand-some imported cloth formed the central docoration for the tea table. The drawing draw-ing room was decorated in pink tulips. THE graduates of tho University of Utah- were guests of the Alumni association of the school at the annual reception last evening at S o'clock in the administration, building. After a brief musical programme, during which the men's, and women's glee clubs gave several selections, dancing was enjoyed in the women 's restrooms. The members mem-bers of the reception committee included includ-ed the members of the faculty and their wives and the officers of the Alumni association. The entertainment took the form of a luau, and the luau adhered closely to traditional customs. It was given at Laniakea, where Hawaiian Ha-waiian customs are being fittingly preserved. The guests gathered early enough to see the "imued" pig removed from tne pits and to watch the preparation of some of the other typical dishes, a new experience ex-perience to some and a keen delight de-light to all- The luau followed in Hawaiian style, with a group of Hawaiian singing women furnishing furnish-ing music. Captain Walson served under Colonel Irons when the latter was at Fort Douglas, Utah, in the Twentieth infantry. Salt Lake City is the home of Mrs. Walson. , From there Colonel and Mrs. Irons went to Japan and from Japan came here, where Colonel Irons is with the Second infantry.
