Show Friday rites honor j memory of Melita B. Fenton mwi & mmm MELITA B. FENTON Mrs. Melita B. Fenton 82, of Parowan died at the Valley View Medical Center on July j 1,. following a long illness. Her death came just 15 days from that of her husband Rob ert L. Fenton, who died June 15. Funeral services were held Friday at 1 p. m. in the Third Ward chapel with Bishop Hyatt Hy-att Bentley conducting and with Vyonne Chamberlain at the organ for prelude and postlude music. Speakers were Jean Hend-rickson Hend-rickson and Eleanor Hall with closing remarks by Bishop Bentley. The family prayer In the Relief Society room of the church, was offered by LaMar Jensen; the Invocation was by Whitney Orton, the benediction benedic-tion was by Don Cartwright, and the grave in the Parowan City Cemetery, was dedicated by Verl Taylor. Musical numbers included a vocal duet, "Whispering Hope" by Howard and Orma Wood; a song by the Third Ward Singing Mothers, "Song Remembered," Re-membered," with Mrs. Chamberlain Cham-berlain conducting and Itha Mortensen, accompanist, and a song "That Beautiful Country'" Coun-try'" by a mixed quartet consisting con-sisting of Robert Rowley, Verl Mitchell, Frankie Lou Bentley and Ola Robinson with Mary Taylor, Rulan Dalton, Karl O. Mitchell, Berta Dalton, Alice Lyman accompanying. Pallbearers included Frank Decker, Morris Shields, Clair and Claude Hulet, Roger Jones Alan Orton and Patrick Fenton Fen-ton Flowere were in charge of Gretta Wood and friends of the family. Melita, Bell McAllister Fenton Fen-ton was born Oct. 9, 1887 in Kanab to William and Elcnor Nell Adams McAllister. She married Robert L. Fenton on Sept. 7, 1911 at Kanab and the marriage was later solemnized solem-nized in the Salt Lake Temple. Tem-ple. She had been active in community com-munity and- church affairs, including American Legion Auxiliary and Daughters of Utah Pioneers, serving in both community and county organizations, organ-izations, She was a former school teacher. She is survived by the following fol-lowing sons and daughters. R. Nelson, St. George; Richard M., Fairbanks, Alaska; Patrick Pat-rick H., Cedar City; Mrs. Mar-riner Mar-riner (Nellie) Jones, Kanab; Mrs. Lester (Mary Bell) Coon, Salt Lake City, and Mrs. Ralph S. (Estelle) Orton, Parowan. Also surviving are 11 grandchildren, grand-children, one great-grandchild, a sisters, Wesley, Mrs. Clara Shields, b oth, Kanab; one brother, bro-ther, Seymour, McAllister of Ogden. |
