Show Laella Phillips Recites April Wedding Vows The marriage of Miss Luella Phillip and Mr. Sheldon C Smith was solemnized on Satur-day, Satur-day, April 6 In the St George L D S Temple with the ceremony being performed by James P. Cameron, first counselor In the temple presidency. The bride is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Oliver W. Phillips, and the bridegroom is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Eldon O. Smith, all of Parowan. The young couple were honored at a reception Saturday evening In the First-Second Ward recreation hall. The bride greeted her guests In a specially designed ballerina-length ballerina-length wedding dress. The all over silk lace formed the bodice and finger tip sleeves and the back and front panel of lace, with three tiers of net ruffles down the side of slipper satin and net. Her shoulder length veil was of bridal illusion and fell from a tiara of pearls. She carried a bouquet of red roses. Mrs. Marketta Ashdown was matron of honor nd Miss Margie Mar-gie May Phlll'ps was maid of honor for their sister. Brides maids were Miss Emily Mae Wilcock Miss Arlene Holyoak, Miss Omah Lee Smith, Mrs. Val-orie Val-orie Bryant, with Joan Smith as Junior bridesmaid. They wore pastel formats and carried nosegays nose-gays of pink daisies and yellow dutch Iris. Standing as best men were EIRoy Bryant and Douglas Mickelson with Vance Ashdown as Junior best man. The gift room wasdi rected by Mrs. June Decker assisted by the Misses Maxlne Joseph, Patricia Urle and Helen Hatch. Mrs. Shirley Shir-ley Talbot was In charge of the guest book and serving were the Misses Annette Dalton, Aleen Rasmussen, Colleen Alger, Anna Dee Macfarlane. Geraldine Skou-gard, Skou-gard, Bonnie Batt and Sherry Dawn Evans. A program was held with Mario Mar-io Topham as master of ceremonies cere-monies and the following taking part: a vocal duet. Norma Lee Mercer and Stuart Adams; reading, read-ing, Billy Wright; trumpet solo, Frank Benson; song, ladies trio, Ramona Stubbs, Elna Stubbs, Shirley Evans; reading Norma Lee Mercer; song, girls' trio, Helen Hel-en Stevens, Sandra Decker, Barbara Bar-bara Warren; dance. Laura Lam-oreaux Lam-oreaux and Tess Thornton; accordion ac-cordion selection, Duane Lamor-eaux, Lamor-eaux, Heber Lund, Kenneth Top-ham; Top-ham; readings, Marguerite Orton and Grace Burt, and talk by A. C. . Hatch. The opening prayer was by Bishop Taylor Miller and the closing one by Bishop George F. Rowley. The remainder of the evening was spent In dancing. The new Mrs. Smith chose a cream-colored sheath dress and Jacket with red accessories for her honeymoon trip to Las Vegas Ve-gas and Hoover Dam. Following this trip the newlyweds will live at Parowan where Luella is a student at Parowan High School and Sheldon Is employed at the Smith Auto Service. |
