Show 'Slim for Life ' slated Was your New Year's resolution to lose weight? Are you a person, like many others, who gains five to 15 pounds during the holiday season? If you answered yes to either of these questions, American Heart Association, Utah Affiliate is here to help. Classes for the 'Slim for Life' program will begin January 14, 1991, to teach nutrition, behavior modification and weight control to anyone who wants to stop dieting and make a lifestyle change for 1991. Classes will be held at Woods Cross High School, Bountiful High School and Canterbury Hall in Bountiful. 'We need to learn to control the emotions associated with eating habits to gain power over food,' said Susan Ward, R.D., nutrition director di-rector for the Association. Self-control, modifying recipes and getting through excuses are just some of the topics taught during the 10-week course which meets one hour per week. The registration cost is $60 or $50 if you pre-register by 5 p.m. on January 14, 1991. Refunds of $10 are given to those who lose 15 pounds or meet their ideal weight Another $10 is refunded for attending atten-ding nine out of 10 classes.
