Mrs. Lottie Maxwell has recovered re-covered sufficiently to return home July 9 from the hospital. Mr. and Mrs. R. M. Reber and son, Bobbie, accompanied by Mrs. Reber's parents returned last Friday Fri-day from a two-day trip to Grand Canyon. Mr. and Mrs. Reber and Bobbie are spending a few days of this week fishing at Pine Valley. They left Tuesday and are expected expect-ed back Friday. H-On H-On their return from the coast Tuesday night Wendell Motter and Paul Neilson barely escaped serious accident when Motter's car skidded off highway 91, which was slippery from the rain. The front of the car was badly jammed and the boys were compelled to get to St. George without it. The accident occured near the Shivwit Indian reservation. Neither passenger was injured but both still wonder how li icy tauaiJeu ueing Kiiieu. Mr. and Mrs. Owen Humphries and small son, Brian, motored up to Diamond Valley Sunday to spend two days visiting with Mrs. Humphries' parents, Mr. and Mrs. Albert O. Fawcett. & Mrs. Kate B. Empey and son, Blake, returned Monday from their trip to the coast, Mrs. Alice B. Bleak remaining in California for an extended visit with her children. child-ren. K. Market reports that Myles is not returning to their employment employ-ment but is taking a partnership at the Sinclair Service Station with Ronald Milne. Lund of Marysvale came to St. George Wednesday and are returning today, to-day, taking with them their small daughter, Mary, who has been here for the past several weeks visiting visit-ing at the home of her aunt, Mrs. Jennie L. Brown. Charles and Evan Pickett motored motor-ed to Grand Canyon over the week-end. Mrs. Minnie Ahlstrom, Miss Miram and Howard Ahlstrom, Wendell Robinson, Charles W. Seegmiller and daughter, Miss Fern, motored to Navajo Lake to spend Sunday. Vernon Iverson will leave Friday Fri-day for his home in Kingman, Ariz., after visiting relatives in this city for the past ten days. Mr. and Mrs. E. J. Pickett and family left Monday morning for the northern part of the state where they will spend a week. f? Mr. and Mrs. Karl Johnson arrived ar-rived Monday forenoon from Los Angeles to visit with his mother, Mrs. Annie C. Johnson and his two children DeLoy and DeLora. William Fry left last week-end for Gallup, New Mexico, to spend the remainder of the summer. Wendell Robinson motored up Saturday from Los Angeles to spend his vacation. Miss Nora Shumway is here from Salt Laek City for an extended ex-tended visit with relatives. Mrs. Philena Pickett left last Thursday for Salt Lake City where she will visit with her children, Mr. and Mrs. Nolan Andreason for several days. From there she will go to Alpine to visit with her sister, Mrs. Martha Terry and family, and later on to San Francisco to spend the remainder of the summer with another sister, Mrs. Susie Terry. i,'f Mrs. Ann Hall and infant of Hurricane spent Saturday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. H. They were guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. H. C. Cottam. Mrs. La Prele Snow spent last week visiting with relatives in Los Angeles. She was a guest of Miss Maude R. Snow who returned to this city with her on Saturday. Miss Snow will visit in St. George and Pine Valley the remainder of the summer. . Mr. and Mrs. Walter Jensen and two children, Carol and Varcel left this morning for Richfield where they will attend the birthday birth-day anniversary celebration of Mr. Jensen's father, Walter Jensen Sr. Mrs. Lucy C. Keate is reported recovering from her recent illness. :: - Merrill Russell was a visitor at the home of his parents in Grafton over the week-end. Mrs. Corry Rodgers of Ogden is spending the week in St. George at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Lelia. Reed Blake returned last Friday from attending six weeks of summer sum-mer school at Flagstaff. Ariz. Mrs. Blake and small son, Reed, joined him on June 5 for the return journey. |
