Visiting over the week end( with Mr. and Mrs. Alden Heap, and family were their daughter, ; Barbara Heap of Los Angeles, who had arrived earlier in the week and continued on to Salt Lake City for a short visit, re- turning Friday with her broth-1 ed Donald Heap and his fiancee, Maradeen Befendorfer, both of Salt Lake City. Entertainment for the week end Included a trip to Zion National Park and St. George and a family gathering gath-ering for the celebration of Donald's Don-ald's birthday. A festive evening was In store for members of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Morris' dinner club s they gathered at the Morris home on Monday evening. The guests enjoyed a delicious turkey tur-key dinner with all of the trimmings trim-mings after which the evening was spent playing pinochle. The prize-winning couple for the eve-nlng eve-nlng were Mr. and Mrs. Therol McArthur and Mr. and Mrs. Frank Milne. ' After-game parties were found entertaining Saturday. Inviting friends in to visit and talk over the game were Mr. and Mrs. Cleo Petty. Finding the game-talk and refreshments very enjoyable were Mr. and Mrs. George Barms. Bar-ms. Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Osborne, and Major and Mrs. Boal. Also enjoying visiting after the CSU victory were Mr. and Mrs. Harry Plummer, Mr. and Mrs. Hazen Cooley, Dr. and Mrs. Roy-den Roy-den Braithwalte, Mr. and Mrs. C. B. Mr. Erickson traveled to Salt Lake for the week end after which the family returned to Cedar City. Mrs. Preston Wood entertained at her home on Friday. Guests for the afternoon were members of the M B VV Club. Mrs. Mel Ence reviewed the biography of her grandparents the Peter Nielsens Niel-sens who immigrated from Denmark, Den-mark, settling in southern Utah. The ladies enjoyed the afternoon together. At a previous meeting, Mrs. Ellas Leigh entertained the club at a luncheon at which she had her home and tables gaily decor-ated. decor-ated. The ladies found their places by special favors. During the afternoon Mrs. Arthur Nelson and Mrs. Mack Naegle were incited in-cited as guests. The afternoon was spent playing canasta. Visiting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Lowe is Mis. Helen Beatty of Columbus. Ohio. ' Mrs. Beatty, mother of Mrs. Lowe, was accompanied to Cedar City by two sons, Eugene and I Robert Beaty. who after spending ( the week end at the Lowe home made their return trip to Ohio. Mrs. Beatty will remain for a 'month In Cedar City. Mr. and Mrs. Kay Wilkes welcomed wel-comed as their week end guests Mr. Wilkes' parents, Mr. and Mrs. Russell Wilkes of Star Valley, Val-ley, Wyo. Enjoying the visit from their grandparents were Shelley, j Randy and Brad. Mrs. Hillman Dalley presented the program at the recent meet-J ing of the En Amities Club as the members met at the home of Mrs. Sherman Frazer. Following a delicious plate luncheon served serv-ed by the hostess, the ladles found the experience told by Mrs. Dalley of her recent trip to Hawaii very interesting. Mrs. Dalley wore one of the beautiful dresses in Hawaiian print as found so worn by the women of the Islands. She also wore one of the leis so much a part of the' island tradition. Bridge was played at the home of Mrs. Clarence Randall on Thursday of last week. Guests for the evening were Mrs. Fran-1 cis Betenson, Mrs. Max Kanaam and Mrs. M. F. Burgess. I Five Cedar City residents have! recently returned from a two week trip to the Hawaiian Islands Is-lands where they were part of the Farm Bureau tour. Tie ' group consisting of Mr. and Mrs. Carlos Jones, Mrs. Hillman Dal-, Dal-, ley and Mr. and Mrs. Leland I Heywood, report having a wonderful won-derful time from the time they flew from here to Salt Lake Cl-j ty and on to San Francisco, arriving ar-riving at the Islands only a few! days later, until their return a week ago. Mr. and Mrs. Howard Andrus received word on Sunday of the arrival of a new grandchild, born to their daughter and husband, Mr. and Mrs. Kent Kirbv of Pro-vo. Pro-vo. The baby, a litle girl, has a one-year-old brother who will be spending the next little while with his grandparents here until mother and baby sister return home. Mrs. Andrus flew to Provo the first of the week and returned re-turned with her young grandson. Mrs. Evan Dobson entertained at Bridge on Monrtav evenln-.
