Show Teachers Association Schedules Third Annual Confab Preliminary plans for the third anunal convention of the Southern South-ern Utah Teachers Association, to be hold Mar. 15, at Snow College, Col-lege, were announced by LaMont Bennett, association president. Previous conventions have been held at Cedar City and Richfield. Mr. Bennett said the association associa-tion includes teachers from the public schools of South Sanpete, Sevier, Wayne, Piute, Garfield, Kane, Iron, Washington, Beaver, Millard and the faculties of Col-lege Col-lege of Southern Utah at Cedar City, Dixie College at St. George, and Snow College at Ephralm. Tentative plans Include a general gen-eral morning session with Dr. Royal Garff, University of Utah sech department, as keynote speaker, along with a panel who will discuss public relations In the public schools. The afternooa will be taken up by subject area group meetings aimed at developing devel-oping better coordination between be-tween grade levels in those various var-ious subject fields. Climaxing the day will be a special afternoon after-noon nerformance nrpspnterl hv the music department of Snow College, of the musical "Oklahoma." "Okla-homa." Election of officers to serve during the 1958-58 year will highlight the session. Richard Bell, Milford. now serving as vice president, will automatically become be-come president. Candidates for vice president are Joseph Foy of Panguitch, and Demont Howell, Mantl. Two nominees will be chosen for the board of directors from the following candidates: Donald Whlttaker, Circleville; Joseph Lowe, Monroe; Victor Frel, Santa Clara, and Thomas Alplanalp, Cedar City. |
