Show Weber Wins Laurels In ICAC League Play Weber Wildcats turned back the Boise Broncos, Defending Intermountain Collegiate Athletic Athle-tic Conference champions, Saturday Sat-urday evening at Ogden to take over the number one spat for the current season with an impressive im-pressive 10 won and 2 loss record. rec-ord. Boise, as a result of the loss, finished in second place with Ricks garnering third and the College of Southern Utah Broncos Bron-cos finishing in fourth place. Dixies Rebels were in fifth followed fol-lowed by Carbon with the Snow Badgers taking cellar honors, with a single win for the season, sea-son, that over the CSU Broncos in a game played earlier in the season at Kphraim. 1 The Wildcacs suffered two 1 losses during the season. Their initial loss was a two point af- j fair played at Boise, Idaho with1 the Broncos of that city taking the early lead in the conference1 as a result of that victory. The only major setback of the season for the Wildcats was the loss tabbed on them by the CSU Broncos at the Memorial fieldhouse in Cedar City. Coach Cleo Petty's Broncos waxed the Wildcats 87 to 64 for their only major setback of the season. I Going into the final week of play the CSU Broncos were i-i the running for the conference title but a three-game losing streak on the rugged road trip into northern Utah and Idaho bounced them out of the running. run-ning. Early in the season two losses at strategic times were also instrumental in the Bronco's Bron-co's downfall. In the opening round of play they lost a close one to Snow at Ephraim. It was the only conference win of the season for the Bac'gers. The other oth-er was a loss on the home court to Ricks College, a defeat that, as it turned out, left the Broncos in a bad spot prior to their trip to the north. Weber, as ICAC winner, will host the Regional playoff in a two of three game series with either Eastern Arizona or Phoe.
