Show Fire Strikes Twice At East Side Home Fire completely destroyed an unoccupied homo at 159 South 400 East Tuesday afternoon at approximately 1 o'clock, it was reported by the Cedar City Fire, department. j The structure, belonging to Mrs. P. L. Wilkinson, was unoccupied, unoc-cupied, was not used for storage if any goods and was open to :he extent that children in the neighborhood used the building as a retreat and play place. t Origin of the fire was not de- termined by the fire department. The building, one of the oldest n the city, was an old log ca-i bin that had been covered with asbestic shingles. The roof was a combination of cardboard and tar paper anl was completely in! flames at the time the call was made to the volunteer firemen.! Actual estimated property da- mage Is also undetermined. At the time of the fire the building; was not fit for use owing to a fire on June 7, 1957. At that time the interior of the building was almost gutted from a fire that originated in a hav stack at the rear of the building. At that time fire loss was estimated at 51500 and total to-tal property value was given at $2500 by the fire department. |
