Show , County Population, Economic Growth Cited There will be approximately! 5,500 more people living In Iron County by 1975, according to a projection by the Bureau of Economic Eco-nomic and Business research at the University of Utah. A forecast was completed recently re-cently by the Bureau and the results re-sults are carried In the January Issue of the "Utah Economic and Business Review." The study of population and economic forecasts shows that there were approximately 10.500 people living in Iron County on Jan. 1 of this year, i By 1975 this figure will have swelled to 16,000, an Increase of 52. I There were' 4,189 Jobs In 1950. I and according to the study 6,350 Jobs will be needed in 1975.. For the state, the "Review" predicts that Utah's total population popu-lation will reach 1,475,000 by 1975. These estimates were arrived I at by the University Bureau after extensive study based upon fast population growth, an analysis of the county's natural resources and their expected economic development de-velopment Local business and agricultural leaders, and city and county officials were consulted by analysts from the University bureau last summer. I The survey emphasizes that although al-though a careful analysis of the area's resources was made, any unusual event could alter the future fu-ture popular picture so that the actual 1975 population could b? greater or less than the figure forecast.
