Show C of C endorses Wafer Bond Election The Board of Director of the Cedar City Chamber of Commerce endorsed the upcoming water bond election to be held Tuesday, Aug. 1 in Cedar City at a meeting held Tuesday morning. Don Marchant, vice president of the Chamber indicated that the board had reviewed with City Manager Mike Embley details of the bond and the need for the development of the water system. "Five days during the past month the city was actually drawing over 100 percent of the rechargeable water supply," Embley told the Chamber board members. Had it not been for some reserve capacity Cedar City would have been without water, he said. "We attempted to accertain the need for water," Marchant stated. "We are convinced that such a need exists and that further delay in the development of Cedar City's water system would be a mistake," he said. The Chamber of Commerce Board encouraged votes to seriously consider con-sider the needs of the community and support the city in this election. "We believe that the bond election deserves the support of the electorate and is in the best interest of the community and it's future," Marchant Mar-chant stated. |
