In a double ring ceremony performed in the St. George Temple on June 3, 1978 Lindy Kirk Davis claimed Jana Maxwell as his wife. Parents of the bride are Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Maxwell and parents of the groom are Mr. and Mrs. Vic Davis. The ceremony was performed by the grandfather of the bride, Moroni B. Langford, who is a sealer at the temple. The newlyweds greeted guests at a wedding reception hold that evening in the Cedar Seventh Ward. The bride was radiant in an elegant gown of chiffon featuring a full flowing skirt with a chapel train. The gown was accented by lace and pearls on the bodice and beautiful full pleated chiffon long sleeves with side lace cuffs. The veil was the bride's own creation and was a fingertip Spanish mantilla of nylon tuel accented ac-cented by matching lace. The groom was attired in a white tuxedo. ' Best man duties were performed by the groom's brother, Randy Davis and the brother of the bride, Jeff Maxwell, was host. Assisting with welcoming guests were Hon and Marlene Davis. The bride choose yellow and apricot as her color scheme and all other men in the line wore yellow tuxedos. Maid of Honor was Jill Rhodes dressed in a long apricot gown. Bridesmaids were Lori Stoker, Sherrin Benson, Beverly Guymon and Tcrri Torsell and their dresses were a floral print called June Bride that featured apricot background with yellow and white flowers. All attendents wore large yellow hats and carried nosegays of yellow and white flowers tied with apricot ribbons. Flower girls were Teri and Jodi Davis, nieces of the groom. They carried white baskets accented ac-cented with matching flowers and they passed out thank you notes to those who attended. Mothers of the bride and groom were dressed in deep apricot gowns. Linda Clark and Jody Parcell were at the guest book. Serving were Alene Durrant, Genifer Graff, Laurie Olsen, Michelle Jackson, Sherry Roper, Selene Jones and Andrea Holyoak. Shawn Davis, Troy Maxwell and Rand Bettridge served as gift carriers. Assisting LaRine Brad-shaw Brad-shaw in the kitchen were Fern Hunter, Kae Holyoak, Emily Rhodes and Georgia Bettridge. Helping at the gift tables were aunts and uncles of the bride, Mrs. Elaine Kirkham, Stan Langford, Mr. and Mrs. Cary Langford and Mr. and Mrs. Robert langford. Music was furnished fur-nished by Mr. Ross Glass. Bridal showers were given the bride by Jill and Emily Rhodes, Lori Stoker and Sherrin Benson and a neighborhood neigh-borhood food shower was given by Georgia Bettridge and Kae Holyoak. The groom graduated from Cedar City High School in 1976 and received an Automotive Technolgoy Degree from Southern Utah State College in 1978 while maintaining honor roll recognition. The bride was a 1978 graduate from Cedar City High School. The young couple are making their home in Cedar City where the groom is employed at Rolling Rubber Inc. MK. AND MRS. LINDY KIRK DAVIS |
