Show PlPflDff fife i Sylvia BRase TV newswoman Sylvia Chase, who serves as a special correspondent for the new ABC-TV prime time newsmagazine '2020,' also co-anchors the 'ABC Saturday News' as well as the 'ABC Weekend News.' She came to ABC following more than five years experience with CBS News as a correspondent, as an anchorwoman for that network's 'Newsbreaks and as editoranchorwoman of 'Magazine,' the monthly series of daytime specials. Miss Chase joined CBS News in 1971 as a reporterassignment editor. She worked as a reporterproducer on the 'CBS Evening News with Walter Cronkite.' With Dan Rather, she co-anchored the award-winning award-winning 'CBS Reports' special 'Caution: Drinking Water May Be Dangerous to Your Health,' which aired in December 1974. She followed the Presidential campaign of Alabama Gov. George Wallace in 1972 and during the 1976 Presidential ; campaign, she served as a floor reporter at the : Republican National Convention. : Before joining the CBS network news staff, Miss ; Chase produced 'Action Reporter,' a daily ombuds- : man feature at KNX Newsradio, the CBS-owned : station in Los Angeles. For distinction in community : service, she received a citation from the American ; Trial Lawyers Association. Miss Chase also worked for the University of California as the coordinator of a nine-campus urban -extension program, held various staff positions with the California State Legislature and managed some California political campaigns. : Born in Northfield, Minn., she received her B.A. degree in English from UCLA.
