Show Parowan Council holds line on mill levy on record opposing two water applications. The first was a proposed exchange of water by Gurr Farms Company and the second was in opposition to an application by Wesley and Ila Bauer to transfer underground un-derground water rights in Parowan Valley to the Brian Head area. Authorization was given by the council to proceed with the improvement and installation of a sprinkling system-on Main Street between the Sage Motel and the old Johnny Dalton residence. In other items the Council: -Authorized that a sewer line installed by Gordon Adams, Duane Lamoreaux and Carlyle Johnson be assumed by the council and brought under city maintenance main-tenance and control. -Approved the retaining of the old police car to be used in animal control exclusively ex-clusively and as a back up patrol car. -Heard a report by Mayor Jim Robinson that a State Planning grant in the amount of $3,000 had been approved for use in the updating of the city's masterplan. Mayor Robinson indicated that the grant would be matched with city funds and labor in the amount of $1,500. -Approved increasing the power plant operators pay on holidays. The increase would be equal to an extra day's salary. The mill levy for Parowan City for the 1979 year was set at 16.22 at the meeting held Wednesday, July 19. The levy is the same as it was for the past year. In other action the Parowan Council reviewed committments from ICPA made in a meeting held the previous night concerning future power contracts with IPP and other projects. The terms, as presented by George Ward of ICPA were approved by the council with a committment to officially adopt the contract at the meeting scheduled for August 2. Deputy Joe Mickelson attended . the meeting and presented a revision of the city's dog ordinance to conform more closely to the standards set by the Humane Society. The Council will review the proposed document and consider its adoption at the next meeting, it was reported. Florence Mitchell, chairman of the LSL Medical Committee and Wilmer Hillis were present to discuss plans for situating the proposed facility on city property southeast of the city. The Council agreed to deed the property concerned with a stipulation in the deed to provide for access to the city well located in the area. A monthly salary of $150 for the city attorney was approved by the Council. A proposal to establish a Water Capital Improvement Fund was introduced by Roy Benson, Jr. of the council. No firm decision was reached concerning the proposed fund by Councilman Coun-cilman Benson agreed to review items of concern with the City Attorney and present the findings at a special meeting to be called to consider the matter.
