The movie studios and even one network are courting dissatisifed television watchers with a huge fall line of videocassette and videodisc releases. Old movies, recent hits, adult material and weird parlor games will hit video stores this fall. The surge in releases is directly related to the snowballing sette recorder market. American homes currently own 13 million VCRs with seven million more projected by the end of 1984. "We could have a 20 percent share TV audience by the of the prime-tim- e end of this year, predicts Herb Fischer, vice president of Key Video. To stay on the air, a TV series needs only a 25 share or more. Ironically, Key Video is jointly owned by CBS and 20th Century Fox. CBS is apparently hoping that if its series don't grab you, its videocassette line will.
