Show Knights of The Road j Sponsor Economy Run George Slack, president of the Knights of the Road Auto Club, announced today that the third annual economy run will be held this Sunday, June 3, starting at 1p.m. The route to be covered includes 156 miles and will take approximately approxi-mately four hours to complete. Cars will assemble at Lunt's Texaco Service Station at 39 So. Main Street where tanks will be checked prior to the beginning of the run. Cars will leave Cedar City and travel across Cedar Mountain by way of Utah Highway 14 to U S Highway 89. The economy cara- van will continue south on High-way High-way 89 to the Junction of Utah 15. The caravan will continue on Utah 15 through Zion National Nation-al Park to the junction of 15 and U S 91. From this point the cars will turn north and continue to the end of the run at Cedar City. Any car that has passed the j 1956 State Safety Inspection will ,be eligible to enter. There is no entry fee, but drivers will pay for their own gas. "You are invited invit-ed to bring your car and see how it will compare," Slack said. The cars will be divided Into three classes according to price, low. medium and high. Winners will be determined on ton miles per gallon. A person with a large car will have the same chance as the owner of a small car. Slack pointed out. People participating may take as many as six people with them. Floyd Eyman. local Texaco distributor, is donating a case of Havoline oil for the sweepstakes winner. Lunt Motor Co. will give lubrications to the winners of each class. Slack said. |
