Show I Cedar Appearance Slated for Music Group I The Mt. Ogden Boys' Chorus and Trumpet Choir will appear in concert on the stage of the College of Southern Utah audi- toi'lum on FrAdaxJune 15, under the sponsorship of the Klwanls Club of Cedar City. The Cedar City appearance of the boys' group that has wide acclaim ac-claim Is the last of a series of concerts in southern Utah and the Utah Parks. They open their concert tour in Richfield on Monday, Mon-day, June 11 and appear successively succes-sively In Richfield, Bryce Con-yon, Con-yon, Grand Canyon, Zion Canyon Can-yon and finish with the Cedar City concert. j The boys are from 9 to 17 years of age and are directed by Glenn L. Hanson, and his wife Faye S. Hanson. Mr. Hanson is a mem-' ber of the faculty of Weber College. Col-lege. This group of boys has combined com-bined a brass and vocal choir Into a pleasing affect The Mount Ogden Boys Chorus and Trumpet Choir was organized organiz-ed in September, 1954. Their en-tire en-tire aim Is to provide opportunity opportun-ity for real development' of the musical talents evidenced by the youth of the area. The primary reulslte, for membership Is the I desire to produce good music, but the teaching program also stresses those virtues which pojnt to character building, developing develop-ing attitudes of cooperation and respect, using music as the means and the incentive. All arrangements using the Trumpet Choir and the Boys' Chorus in combination are the work of Professor Hanson. The Cedar City concert is slated slat-ed for 8:30 p. m. |
