An extension of tho child la"bor law Is provided In a bill introduced In the houso yesterday by Mrs. Cannon of Salt Lake. The bill amends section 1 of chapter Hi, laws of mil, which lo the1 child labor law, In such a manner hb to raise tho a?e limit of children omploycd from 11 to IS years and adds to the list of places where they may not bo employed under the ago or IS foundries and druj: ytorcs. .Moreover, the bill provides a ohnngo In section S. which has to do with limitation limita-tion of hours. In the present law a limit of tlfty-four hours a. wcclt Is placed on the employment of boys under 11 or girls un-dr un-dr 10 In any calnful occupation "other than domestic eervlce, Irult or vegetable packing or work on a farm." The new bill eliminates all those exceptions. In other words, It makes the employment unlawful of boys and girls within the specified age limits In any occupation, not excepting housework, canning factory, fac-tory, fruit packing or vcgotable packing or farm work. |
