Show MANGLED IN RUNAWAY: BAD CASUALTY AT LARK Special to The Tribune. BINGHAM, April 19. Chris Lee and James Cook, employees of the smelter at Bingham, were knocked down by a runaway team at Lark, this ovenlng at S;30 o'clock, and badly injured. At Ihe time of tho accident the two men were walking along the road from Lark to Bingham. The team became frightoned at a passing automobile, and broke loose from the tie post, and dashed up the canyon at breakneck speed. The men were taken unawares, and wore trampled beneath the hoofs of tho speeding horses. Both men wero unconscious when picked up by those who had witnessed wit-nessed the accident. Thoy were brought here, and Dr. Ray made an examination and found that Lee had sustained a fractured frac-tured skull and that his right car was almost al-most torn off. Cook was not so badly hurt, his Injuries consisting largely, of bruises about the head and body. Lee's condition tonight Is considered sorlous, and grave fears are entertained for his recovery. The runaway team was owned by the Clipper livery of Upper Bingham. |
