Man-. aging Director; Duncan Mac-Vichic Mac-Vichic Is Manager. -A reorganization or the management or tho Nevada Douglas Copper company has been crfocted, and Walter C. Orem, who has served In the capacity or general gen-eral manager during the history of the organization, will bo succeeded by Duncan Dun-can MacVichle, who, up to the prcsont time, has been consulting engineer ror this company. Mr. Orem becomes the managing director of iho company, while Mr. MiicVlchio will also serve In the capacity ca-pacity oT consulting engineer for A. J Orem & Co. or Boston. Mr. MacVichle will be manager both of the mine and the Nevada Copper Belt railroad, the latter now being rushed with all possible speed from Mason to the Nevada Douglas property. The latter lat-ter mine Is being placed in shape to properly produce the largo tonnage on which It will bo called to provide under the ore contract with the .Mason Vallev Smelting company. Tills contract calls for the delivery of 250.000 tons of copper pro within two years' time or the blowing blow-ing In or tho smelter. Plans also are now on foot ro equip Ihe Nevada Douglas properly with the necessary machinery for handling the enormous gypsum deposit, of which best evidences Indicate there arc many million mil-lion tons available, the prollt on which Is figured at $2 per ion. Tho details of this branch or Nevada Douglas work have not yet been fully determined. Mr. Orem gathered together tho Nevada Ne-vada Douglas properties early In the awakening of Ycrlngton. and under his management tho present generous tonnage ton-nage of straight smelting ore has boon brought to view. Mr. MacVichle lias been with tho company for over a vcar. and Is a most enthusiastic believer In tho future of tho property and camp. |
