Show s Houses Being Removed. The Western Pactllc is rushing work-on work-on its permanent entry track to the new Gould station. This track starts from a point on FourUi West. Just north of lhe corner of First South, and in a graceful and easy curve gets into the heart or lhe block, when it takes off In a direct lino to the west to connect with tho former Western Pnclllc track Just west of Sixth West. To make the connection, all the buildings in the center of the two blocks have to be removed, and In pushing this work many of the old adobes are being torn down entirely, while lhe frame structures are being removed to other sites. A double track will be constructed, so as to give the new lino ample facilities ror the proper handling of its passenger trains into and oul or the city, and private pri-vate right or way has been acquired. The work will be completed when the road puts on passenger trains and the new station If ready for ocenpancv. Then the Sixth Vv"est tracks will be used ror Rio Grande freights and the present curve will ho the Western Pa-cllic Pa-cllic freight connection with the Rio Grande, giving It an entrance to the new freight yard. |
