Show S j l"" Utah Figure Skating Club skaters who did well at the Pacific Coast competition recently in Phoenix, Ariz., are left to right, Clay Sniteman, first overall, first in freestyle and second in figures, Intermediate Men; Matt Grevstad, second Novice Dance; and Dorothy Bowers, third place Adult Dance. Utah figure skaters 'shine' Phoenix, Ariz, was the setting for the 1987 Pacific Coast Competition Competi-tion and the Utah Figure Skating Club was well represented. Qualifying Qual-ifying for Pacific Coast is a great accomplishment for these young skaters and their parents. The placements for Coast are: Senior ladies, Kenna Bailey, 7th in figures, 9th in short program, 7th in long program and 7th overall. Junior ladies Kirsten Novak 5th in figures, 6th in short program, 6th in long program, 6th overall. Novice ladies, Heather Sniteman Snite-man 7th in figures, 9th in freestyle and 9th overall. Intermediate Ladies, Shannon Smith 7th in figures, 8th in freestyle and 7th overall. Intermediate men, Clay Sniteman Snite-man 2nd in figures, 1st in freestyle and 1st overall. Novice Dance, Francine Clark and Richard Dupaix 1st; intermedi ate dance, Bethany Yeates and Matt Grevstad 2nd; adult dance, Dorothy Bowers and Jim Ambrose, 3rd; intermediate pairs, Don Shaeffer and Tanya Whitt-more Whitt-more 8th. Holly Cook who didn't compete in Pacific Coast because of attending attend-ing Junior Worlds in Kitchener, Ont., Canada, where she placed fourth, will be going to Nationals in Tacoma, Wa. in February. |
