Show I Bountiful athlete earns Academic Ail-American SALT LAKE CITY-Tom Ross, a senior at Westminster College, has been selected to the 1985 National Na-tional Association of Intercollegiate Intercollegi-ate Athletics Academic All-America All-America Soccer Team. This is the second consecutive year that a Westminster soccer player has received re-ceived the prestigious award. ROSS, A full-time student from Bountiful, is a computer science major with a 3.5 cumulative grade point average. He has played the goalkeeper position on Westminster's Westmins-ter's varsity soccer team for three years. Ross is a graduate of Woods Cross High School. Selection to the NAIA Academic Acade-mic All-Amerca Soccer Team is based on academic excellence and the quality of soccer played. WESTMINSTER soccer coach Chris Dorich was elated about the award. He said, "Of the approximately approxi-mately 15,000 NAIA soccer players, play-ers, only 22 can be chosen to be Academic All-Americans. This is an elite group. I'd like to see this award become an annual West- TOM ROSS minster College soccer tradition." Westminster's varsity soccer team finished the 1985 season with a win-loss record of 6-I0-I. |
