The Texan who recently retired his 29-year-old car. saying he wanted it to die in the stable like an old faithful horse, took delivery of its successor a spanking, spank-ing, new jeep station wagon and vowed that it would "last 29 years, too." "It has everything that old Model "I" had, and took me over a half million miles. There's no reason the jeep shouldn't last that long The question is, can I?" He figures what finally licked his old bus was the difficulty of getting spare parts. It wasn't too comfortable comfort-able anymore, either. The jeep distributor in El Paso asked him if he wanted to trade it in. "No, sir! " was the prompt reply. "That car isn't going to finish its days as some beaten up 'hot-rod. It is going right into my garage where it can take it easy, just like an old horse that has given faithful, service." |
