Show Curtis Coal Co. Moves Offices; Enlarges Yard The oldest independent coal yard in Sugar House, the Curtis Coal Co., recently moved its business bus-iness location from 2205 to 2219 Highland Drive. According to its owners, the company now has one of the most complete and modern yards and service facilities in the West-Paved West-Paved Yard The entire yard is paved which minimizes the chance of any foreign matter getting intoi the coal, according to Curtis of-1 ficials. The yard is served by two railroad "highlines." Norn-of Norn-of the coal is handled by hand. Two Scoopmobiles are presently pres-ently in use to load the trucks, and for other movement of coal. Four of the trucks have been equipped with new coal conveyor con-veyor devices which are used to advantage in home deliveries. The conveyor takes the coal from the truck and delivers it into the coal room of the home in a minimum of time and a maximum of cleanliness. Officials Officials of the Curtis Coal Co. are: A. R. Curtis, who established estab-lished the business 40 years ago, and his two sons, Dale R. and Marvin R. Curtis. In addition to improvement and expansion of the yard, the owners have completed a large office space using knotty-pine for the walls. They have a I large wash room for the yard employes and other modern facilities. fa-cilities. The weight scale is two! feet longer than the old one and a "Weight-O-Graph" is now in use to insure accurate weighing of coal. |
