Show "Women's Week' " Features Local BPW Speaker Or.c. .feature of local interest in the annual observance of National Business Women's Week, Oct. 10-16 will be a radio program Wednesday in which a member of the Sugar House Business Bus-iness and Professional Women's Club will be interviewed. Mrs. Opal Kennelly, radio chairman of the local women's civic group, will appear as guest speaker on Miss Phyllis Perry's popular "Women's Page" program, pro-gram, to be aired Wednesday afternoon over radio station KALL. Mrs. Kennelly will speak on the subject: Women n Politics. t 1 st Celebration Business Women's Week is being celebrated for the 21st time, Mrs. Kennelly stated. Under Un-der the sponsorship of the national na-tional BPW, purpose of the week is to better acquaint the American public with the important im-portant role women are taking in the business, professional, social "ana" political fields in tire country. National organization of Business Bus-iness and Professional Women boasts a membership of over 140.000 women and some 2200 clubs. 53 Per Cent Majority In the interview with Miss Perry, Mrs. Kennelly will stress the role women are taking in political leadership. One revealing re-vealing statistic she will include in her discussion Is the record women made at the polls in the 1944 presidential election when 53 per cent of the ballots cast were those of women. |
