Show S DOING THE TOWN By Elaine Cannon Shades of autumn . . what a glorious, glorious thing to be living out southeast way in the shade of Mount Olympus. Honestly Hon-estly now, have you ever seen the hills of home so beautiful? tjr-nd to think that some lucky people out here have picture wm-'jws wm-'jws in their kitchens and can eat their meals while they drink in the color of those eastern mountains. But better than anything is to take the family for a long Indian summer ride through the canyons. It's almost unbelievably unbeliev-ably breathtaking. Mrs. Bret R. Woolley, from out Forest Hills way, took a trip through the hills over the week end and she said she's never been quite so stirred by nature's beauties as she was on that jaunt. Nothing quite like it. Mrs. Aldon Anderson and her brother, H. Trprl F.s?an. had busiess in Park City and they came back with glowing reports about their drive and the fall coloring, too. So . . . we'll see you in the hills. Mrs. Nibley Meldrutn was hostess at a Mothers and children party at her Yale-crest Yale-crest Ave. home on Friday. The affair was a get together togeth-er for many school friends Cof Phyllis Summers McDon- nell who has been a recent Salt Lake visitor. Thy His and her husband, Roland, are living in California now. Party goers were served cool glasses of lime frappes. Heaps of home-made cookies cook-ies with special cutout ones ' for the small try. Home made fudge, all-day suckers and nuts completed the menu. On the guest list were some prominent southeast-erners southeast-erners . . . Mrs. Orson Blackett and her two youngsters, young-sters, Scott and Nancy; Mrs. Robert Ward brought just one of her boys, David; Mrs. Oscar Booth and four-year-old -Curtis; Mrs. Courtney Daniels from out East Mill Creek way with h"r sons, Danny and Peter; Mrs. Don Poulton and Dee; Mrs. Douglas Sorensen aid baby Shirley. Of course, little Peter Meldrum was on hand to help his Mommy entertain. Lots of fun was had by all . - . and indeed! We're speaking of the open house given by Mrs. Eva Darger in honor of her son, Stan and his wife, Arlecn, who havebeen visiting Salt Lake from their Denver home. Saw Dick Pyke, John Whitney . . . Mr. and Mrs. Grant Madsen talking talk-ing with the Ab Madsons . . . Mr. and Mrs. Alden J. Anderson Ander-son exchanged pleasantries with Evelyn Darger, Stan's sister . . . the Bob Dargers wero buzzing around making everybody feel right at home. Dr. and Mrs. E. 15. Fairbanks, Fair-banks, 9G7 Military Drive, are busily welcomisig a new daughter-in-law into the family circle and presenting her to their many friends. The recent bride is the former for-mer Miss Cousruure Jean Edwards of Columbus, O., and she exchanged vows with Richard Frank Fairbanks Fair-banks on Sept. 12, in Columbus. Colum-bus. The newlywcds are making their heme at 2017 12th East. Mrs. Joe B. Maliory was hostess host-ess to a group of her friends who are members of a study group. Guests met Tuesday at the Maliory home, 220 Walker lane. Luncheon was served and then Mrs. Arthur E. jarvis gave a topic on "Marketing.'' Saw Mrs. Clayton Kimball, 2509 Glenmare Ave., doing forae quick shopping in Sugar House. Mrs. Kimball sister and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Adamson who are former East Mill Creek residents, have sent word home via the mailways that they are comfortably settled set-tled in Ft. Devons, Mass.. while Jack works on his doctorate at! Harvard. j |
