Show Students Enjoy Mini-Classes At Centerville CENTERVILLE -- Mini-classes are the "in" thing, these days, for students at Centerville Elementary School. WHETHER IT'S in music writing or drama or babysitting, these and other choices arc being offered in four-six week classes held one or two afternoons after school says Karen Smith, of the school's PTA. Other offerings include basic first aid to child development, de-velopment, photography and cultural arts, with help coming from 4-H to the South Davis Fire District. In addition, some students have traveled to the Promised Prom-ised Valley Playhouse as part of their class through parental assistance, she says. A JUNIOR and senior chorus are provided for other students interested and they're preparing a program for an upcoming PTA meeting. Mrs. Smith says, with that no-fce class offered to any and all comers. Other classes include a small fee for materials. mate-rials. ,: Into its second year, the program involves two-thirds two-thirds of the school's 368 students with efforts ongoing to keep costs t othe "lowest possible" while conducting an evaluation of all participants. THE PROGRAM was outlined to the board of education where positive response was noted. |
