Sept. 3. School e dismissed the two days I, Education Assoc. con vention. Thursday and Friday. Oct. 11-12. --OTHER holiday breaks include in-clude Thanksgiving, with schools closed Thursday and Friday, Nov. 22-23. The big Christmas holiday will see schools closing two hours early ear-ly Friday. Dec. 21 and will re-v.o.ivene re-v.o.ivene in the new year on Tuesday. Jan. 2. -Other breaks will come with the President's Day holiday. holi-day. Monday. Feb. 18. 1985 and the spring break. Friday and Monday, April 5 and 8. --SPECIAL days to be observed in the schools will include in-clude Columbus Day, Oct. 8; Veterans Day, Nov. 12; Martin Mar-tin Luther King's birthday, Jan. 15, 1985; Lincoln's birthday, birth-day, Feb. 12 and Arbor Day, April 26. -The teacher orientation and preparation days and meetings will be announced at a later date. -A BREAKDOWN of the four terms and grading periods includes: first term, encompassing encom-passing 42 days, will run from Aug. 27-Oct. 26. Second term will go from Oct. 29-Jan. II and include 46 days while third term runs from Jan 14-March 15 with 44 days. The last term is the longest, at 48 days, and goes from March I8-May 24. -Three high schools will operate op-erate on the so-called eight period day, with four classes , each day, while Woods Cross has yet to decide a schedule. Clearfield and Layton will continue con-tinue with the six-period base day plus an extended 7th hour. |
